Study Session 2009 - Youth against gender discrimination and homophobia

EEE-YFU and KPH (Campaign Against Homophobia) together organised a Study Session in Strasbourg, France, from 4-11 October 2009.  The aim of the study session was to learn about gender discrimination and homophobia in Europe and to develop methods to act against this form of discrimination. European YFU and KPH volunteers had a chance to meet and exchange ideas while approaching a subject that is both relevant to their everyday lives as well as for their volunteer work.

Participants got a chance to learn about and discuss the topic of gender discrimination and homophobia and will therefore be better prepared for tackling cases of discrimination and homophobia in their work with YFU students and host families. This can be useful in the preparation process of both students and host families, in placement procedures and in counselling throughout the exchange year.
